Translation of the folder text: "Calcitosi-goldmania": this new word has born to represent the new exhibition which see together the goldsmith ability with the calcite (a crystal).

   When a specific calcite crystal, such as the stones from Mezzolombardo, near Trento, comes in touch with the Trentin goldsmiths, the "calcitosi" ailment rises up, giving preciousness to this local mineral.

    The Trentin Mineralogical Group and the Trentin  Artistic-Artisan Goldsmiths have realized this event: the formers extracting the stones from the rock, the latter creating artistic jewels.

   Fancy and inspiration, precious materials such as gold and silver, have given life to these jewels.

   To create his own jewel the goldsmith has observed the rough material with a particular sight in order to reap the smallest shadings, imperfections and details to transform them into value.

   This is a very particular exhibition because we see, for the first time, a poor mineral, such as the calcite, enter like a king in a goldsmith demonstration.

The NIGI firm, for this occasion, created a 925mill-silver necklace with a geode-shape pendant from which a local calcite-crystal springs up. Some of the metal crystals are done in gold 750mill.
